Award winning artist, W.Jason Situ is fascinated by the special light of his subject matter.  Born in Guangdong Province in Southeastern China, he began painting while in high school, and when the school closed due to the Cultural Revolution, Situ studied informally with friends and painted plein air with local artists.  When this extremely turbulent movement ended, Jason spent two years studying at the Guangzhou Fine Arts Institute, one of China's most prestigious and competitive professional art academies.  In the early 1980s, he taught art at the Kaiping #1 Middle School and over a ten-year career as an art instructor, Stu's works were exhibited in various art museums throughout China.  His artistic career flourished upon immigration to the United States in 1989.  Along with numerous museum exhibitions, He is a member of Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, and Laguna Plein Air Painters.
